I am 24 hours late getting this done due to being on holiday...
We began Friday with an early morning ferry ride back to Europe from Asia and our d3estination was Nessebar, Bulgaria. First thing I noticed was a Koala bear that had taken over our map. I must point out that our tour consists of Canadian and Australians and I do believe one Kiwi but identity is difficult. A great group.
We followed narrow roads for the best part of the day and the bus just loved to wallow through the dips. We passed some rice paddies along the way and one very brave dog stood in the roadway as 3 large busses came toward him. Obviously done this many times as he moved at the last minute. We also noted that we were sharing the road with all sorts of transportation types, some reminding us of teh Beverley Hillbillies. We lunched in Kirklareli, Turkey before heading to the Bulgarian border. After much paperwork both to get out of Turkey and then into Bulgaria, we were welcomed with some lovely scenes, and some scary ones too. Lots of vineyards in this area and we finally came to our hotel in Nessebar some 11 hours after departing Canakkale. A quick dip of our toes in the Black sea and off to bed.
